Resolutions for 2013

I think since the dawn of man, all New Years Resolutions have always consisted of getting in shape or losing weight. Like so many other men and women, I too make this my resolution every year and at about the second weekend in I promptly fall off the wagon and go back to my old ways.
This year I’ve decided to not to add it back on to my list of resolutions and have decided to add a few others that are more important.
Here they are:
  1. Set goals that are realistic for me to achieve.
  2. Track what I spend and learn how to budget better. Jonathon made us an excel spreadsheet; so that we can track where our money is going and how much we’re saving. With so much spending going on between the wedding and the purchase of our new home over the past couples of years… it’s vital we work together to not only save money, but to track how we’re spending our money. Slowly but surely I’m learning the benefits of saving for the future and I’m learning that sometimes the things you want in the present will seem insignificant compared to the wants/needs you will have in the future.
  3. Make positive memories with my friends, family, and husband.
  4. Get Healthy! Not just physically, but spiritually as well.
  5. Cut the negativity out of my life. People are who they are, you can’t change them no matter how badly you want them to be different, but there is no reason to let them bring you down. Focus on the positive aspects of your life and focus on the things you can change instead of the things you can’t.
  6. I hate going to school. I absolutely do not enjoy it at all, but I have to learn to endure because I want to be able to provide for my family and the only way I can adequately provide for my family is to get a Bachelor’s degree.
  7. Study more and read more!
What resolutions did you make this year?
